BNI members raise a mind-blowing £1,653.75 for Together Against Cancer.

On 22nd March 2024, brave BNI members challenged themselves to complete a Fire & Glass fundraiser… walking across flames and shards of glass to raise money for TAC.

They smashed through their target and raised such life-changing funds that will go a huge way towards supporting those living with cancer. What a way to make a difference! We can’t thank you enough.

The demand for additional therapies at our centre is growing rapidly. Together Against Cancer are so grateful to the members of BNI for recognising the important work we do and donating their time and energy to help us continue providing care to those who need it most.

Thank you Neil P at EAVA FM

DJ Neil P at multilingual radio EAVA FM 102.5 in Leicester has raised a fantastic £1,010 for Together Against Cancer.

For World Cancer Day on 4th February 2024, Neil P challenged himself to host a non-stop, 24 hour radio show to raise funds for organisations providing services to those suffering with the disease, including Together Against Cancer. To add to the challenge, he also chose to only consume fruit and water whilst on air.

Thank you Jai Hanuman Sevak Group

Thank you to the Jai Hanuman Sevak Group in Leicester for raising £2,500 for Together Against Cancer.

Wow! We were blown away to receive a £2,500 donation in December 2023 from the Jai Hanuman Sevak Group in Leicester after they hosted two events, this year and last, to fundraise for Together Against Cancer.

Thank you, this donation will go a HUGE way towards supporting even more individuals living with cancer, who describe our Wellness Centre as a ‘lifeline’ in times of need. We are so grateful.

Thank you so much to Rani and her friend Chris for raising £300 for Together Against Cancer.

Rani was so grateful for all the support we provided during her healing journey, that she combined her passion for sewing and crafts with fundraising and spreading the word about our services to others in need. What a beautiful way to give back!

After already raising funds last year from the sale of handmade items she makes and sells at local craft fairs, we were incredible grateful to hear the pair had raised another £300 in November 2023. We are so blessed to have such a kind and thoughtful community.

 
Thank you Vijay

Vijay has raised a phenomenal £6,302 split between 5 local Leicester charities close to his heart, including Together Against Cancer.

In September 2023, Vijay challenged himself to a 19-day Everest Base Camp trek at 65 years old to honour the memory of loved ones, in particular his mum and dad. The Satya Ram Challenge was named after them.

“My mum was the most generous-spirited, kind and hospitable person you could ever meet and my dad was well known for helping many relatives and friends. I want to help their legacy live on by raising money for five fantastic charities. They are all charities that I know first-hand, that have touched my life in some way and have done so for many other people.”

After 19 days of tough physical endurance, wild weather and some minor injuries, Vijay & team reached EBC! What a tremendously challenging yet rewarding journey, we are in awe of your achievements. A huge well done to all involved and a heartfelt thank you for pushing the limits to raise funds for a number of vital causes.

Thank you so much to Ella for raising an incredible £3,050 split between 2 charities including Together Against Cancer.

In July 2023, Ella chose to honour and support her mum going through treatment by chopping off her locks for charity. Such bravery! 

19 inches of hair going to the Little Princess Trust and a further £3,050 split between two charities including Together Against Cancer. Our team is incredibly grateful for your generosity, these funds will make a huge difference to the lives of so many going through a cancer journey. A heartfelt thank you to everyone for supporting Ella & her family, love to all involved.

Thank you Quiz Night participants

Our charity pub quiz night raised £322 for Together Against Cancer.

A massive thank you to the community for joining together and taking part in our charity quiz night on Monday 5th June 2023. Participants generously got into the charity spirit, bought raffle tickets and supported our important cause.

We had a wonderful night and gratefully raised £322 towards our services. Here’s to the next one!

Thank you so much to the El Camino ladies for raising a fantastic £3,260 for Together Against Cancer.

Come rain, mud & shine… with plenty of ascents & descents thrown in for good measure! In April 2023, these incredible ladies trekked 113km of pilgrim route, El Camino de Santiago in honour of loved ones. The mental and physical endurance needed for such a task… we are in awe of their efforts. What an achievement!

They’ve surpassed their fundraising target with over £3K going directly to TAC to deliver more therapeutic treatments for those living with cancer. Thank you so much to all who donated and supported the team during their journey.

Rani and Chris spent countless hours crafting and selling their gorgeous handmade items over several craft fairs between 2022-23. We were blown away when they told us they’d raised £630 in total! We are so grateful for their time, efforts, kindness and generosity.

This sum will help us deliver more therapies at the centre, providing even more invaluable support to those living with cancer.

Thank you so much to Hannah for raising £170 for Together Against Cancer.

All the way from Australia! In August 2022, Hannah (pictured left) ran 14K in Sydney’s City2Surf to support people living with cancer. Our small local charity is funded by the public, so reaching corners of the world like this to unite in support of our mission is truly amazing.

Our 3 Hours, 2 Wheels, 1 Goal fundraiser on 2nd July 2022 raised an incredible £2,792.76 for Together Against Cancer.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part and donated. All cyclists, sponsors, volunteers, fitness motivators and The Engine Room Gym team members, dedicating their time and energy to support loved ones impacted by cancer. A special shoutout to our client Jen for inspiring this event.

Taking control of one of the side effects of cancer treatment, Tina decided to ‘Brave the Shave’ to raise money for Together Against Cancer. In the Spring of 2021, Ben and a friend Wesley, set out on a remarkable, 2000-mile motorcycle ride across the length of the UK – from John O’Groats to Land’s End. An incredible achievement as he continues to fund therapies to support his own healing. Just a few months earlier and this challenge wouldn’t have been possible.
